TCM Nutritional Therapy is based on the same theory as acupuncture and herbal medicine. Each food has a taste and fundamental nature. Some of them are more obvious like spicy peppers are hot in nature or peppermint is cooling while others are more subtle. The nature of a food can work with or against your own body. TCM nutrition helps to find a diet that is best for you.
During a Nutritional Counseling session we would look at your general constitution and any acute patterns that are presenting in your body. We will look at what you are eating, when you are eating and how you are cooking your food. Then we will offer food and cooking recommendations, what to do more of and what to avoid. Nutrition is one of the most important aspects of TCM. At MUA we will work with your life style to try and find the best ways to incorporate a diet that will help nourish you.
